The Alpine Retirement Group Board of Director’s has over 20 years’ experience in aged care including John Ryder, Alpine’s Chairman, who is a chartered accountant and was a co-founder of Ryman Healthcare, Simon O’Dowd who has been the national president for the NZ Aged Care Association for 20 years and Wendy Fleming who is a registered nurse and Vice Chairperson of Alzheimer’s Disease International, a federation which represents over 80 countries worldwide.

National Standards of Care
John Ryder, Simon O’Dowd and Wendy Fleming (all directors of Coastal View) founded Health Ed Trust NZ (Inc) in 1997, which is a charitable education trust operating on behalf of the aged care sector. The trust has been the dominant private training establishment for aged care in New Zealand for nearly 20 years, used by around 60% of the industry (about 500 facilities nationwide) and there have been over 25,000 student graduates to its NZQA approved care courses (the trust merged with the industry training organisation, Careerforce, in 2016).
Please note, we are happy to accept your expression of interest however, firm applications cannot be accepted until the company applies for registration under the Retirement Villages Act 2003. This will not occur until construction of the facility is well underway.
