Coastal View is situated on 8 hectares of northwest facing land on Princes Drive on the Tahunanui Hills. Construction will begin in 2017. A new road is being built and this will be the shortest available access to the top of the Port Hills in Nelson from a main road. The village will be only 1.2km from Nelson Hospital and 3.2km from the centre of Nelson. Although we are happy to accept your expression of interest, firm applications cannot be accepted until the company applies for registration under the Retirement Villages Act 2003. This will not occur until construction of the facility is well underway.
Design
The village, including the lodge, houses, apartments and facilities, have been designed by architects Kerry Mason and Huia Reriti of multi-award winning MAP+ architects. The pictures in this website are artists impressions only.
Facilities
When completed, Coastal View Lifestyle Village will also feature a Village Lodge, 3 eateries, an indoor swimming pool and spa and a movie theatre.
Within the lodge there will be a variety of one and two bedroom serviced apartments which are available with a range of associated care options. These options range from Level 1 care right up to full rest home care. This flexibility enables residents to remain reasonably independent, while selecting the important extra care or attention that they require.
The serviced apartments operate under occupational right agreements that are similar to the houses in the village, but have different village contribution fees, and weekly fees that will depend on the level of care and meals that are requested or required. 5. The village will have 24 hour staffing and assistance is always on hand. There will also be an integrated rest home, hospital and dementia unit complex, separate from the other facilities in the village.
